My Opinion:
New Immigrants, Not United States Citizens Must Adapt!
I heard that the state of Florida changed its opinion and let a Muslim woman have her picture on her
drivers license with her face covered.

How stupid can they be, how are you suppose to identify someone with their face covered? why not allow
a bandit to wear his mask on his license?

I have no idea who posted this Editorial written by an American citizen, published in a Tampa Newspaper
on the net, but it is bias to the Christian faith. This is my version of the same.

New Immigrants, not United States Citizens must adapt:

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since
the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of
Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd
began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against
immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming
to America. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and
apparently some born here, need to understand.

This countries population is composed entirely of descendants of immigrants, except for Native
Americans, and Blacks who were brought here against their will. The original White Christians were
quite mixed by the time the war for independents was over, and this nation was founded.

Comprised of religions other then Christian, and some atheist. That is why the founding fathers
included the right to freedom of belief in the bill of rights. The country was not intended to remain a
Christian one.

Sovereignty means, "Government free from external control, Royal authority; the dominion of a
monarch." Our government is not free from external control, the control is the people. We done away
with Royalty when we won are freedom from England.

National identity is The united States of America.

Who is an American? Anyone who was born or naturalized in any country on the North or South
American Continents. That means Canadians, Mexicans, and people from any country in south America,
as well as the USA.

Yes ! We have our own USA culture, society, and lifestyle. Which is made up from a mixture of all the
immigrants that came to our shores. The original being that of the native Americans.

And we have our own language, which is basically English, with flavors of accents, and slang from all the
languages of all the immigrants that made up our society.

This culture has been developed over centuries by millions of men and women who have sought
freedom. Men and women who had to go to school and learn our History, Government, Geography, and
English in order to be come citizens.

The trouble is today we have those who are already considered citizens, because they come from our
possessions. Where Spanish is the native tongue, and they don't have to go to school like the
immigrants to become a part of the main land society.

We speak USA ENGLISH, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language.
Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!

Even if they do come from a possession, they should be required to learn English if they are going to live
on the main land.

God is part of the cultures that made their way to our shores, and remains so because of the bill of
rights. God doesn't offend me, why would something that is responsible for this earth, and all I enjoy
including my life offend me.

What is offence of is when some one displays, "In God We Trust", The word "We" refers to all no
matter how you may believe, taking away my right to choice.

It is appropriate to display anywhere in private, such as church, or at home. But not where you are
imposing it on the general public, which may be viewed by those people who don't hold with that belief. It
makes Christians no better then others who are trying to force their belief on people.

"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is a Christian, right wing, political slogan. Congress
adopted this motto because Christian men and women, pushed them too. This country got along fine
with "E Pluribus Unum" for 180 years, with out violating the law.

The original motto of the United States was secular. "E Pluribus Unum" is Latin for "One from many"
or "One from many parts." It refers to the welding of a single federal state from a group of individual
political units -- originally colonies and now states. It was also an acknowledgement of the multi cultural
make-up of the original colonies.

On JULY 4, 1776, Congress appointed John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson to
prepare a design for the Great Seal of the United States. The first design, submitted to Congress on
AUG. 10, 1776, used the motto "E Pluribus Unum." It was rejected. Five other designs also failed to
meet with Congress' approval during the next five years. In 1782, Congress asked Mr. Thomson,
Secretary of Congress, to complete the project. Thomson, along with a friend named Barton, produced a
design that was accepted by Congress on JUNE 10, 1782. It included an eagle with a heart-shaped shield,
holding arrows and an olive branch in its claws. The motto "E Pluribus Unum" appeared on a scroll held
in its beak. The seal was first used on SEP. 16, 1782. It was first used on some federal coins in 1795.

In 1956, the nation was suffering through the height of the cold war and the McCarthy communist witch
hunt. Partly in reaction to these factors, the 84th Congress passed a joint resolution to replace the
existing motto with "In God we Trust." The president signed the resolution into law on JULY 30, 1956.
The change was partly motivated by a desire to differentiate between "atheistic" communism and
Western capitalistic democracies, which were at least nominally Christian. This change was just a couple
of years after Congress added "under God" to the Pledge of Allegiance. Both changes are clear
violations of the First Amendment.

I love my country, and would defend it, and old glory to the end, but when you say, "our culture,
country, land and lifestyle" who's, "OUR" are you referring too.

That my friend is what freedom is all about, being able to not only voice your opinion, but to make
changes to non righteous laws. It is every citizens right to defend the constitution and the bill of rights,
from transgression by self centered people like you.

I do agree that anyone who doesn't like this country the way it is, and is not willing to make peaceful
changes through the law, DO Have the RIGHT TO LEAVE.

Please pass this along if you agree
